Renowned comedian, Bright Okpocha, popularly known as Basketmouth, has taken a significant step towards reconciliation with his former rival and colleague, AY Makun. Weeks after publicly apologizing to AY and officially ending their 17-year-old rift, Basketmouth has extended an invitation to AY to attend his upcoming concert in Lagos.
In a recent interview with Arise TV, Basketmouth revealed that he had sent AY a ticket for the event scheduled to take place at the Eko Hotel & Suites. However, he clarified that AY would not be performing or making a cameo appearance on stage during the show.
While addressing expectations about AY’s involvement in the concert, Basketmouth explained, “AY is not on the bill to perform, but he has got a ticket. He’s attending. I sent him his ticket a few days ago.”
He continued, “In actual fact, I don’t have that many comedians on the bill. I know Bovi is introducing me. Senator, Dan The Humorous, and Aproko from Abuja are performing. I got a few people from Ghana as well.”
Emphasizing the structured nature of the show, Basketmouth highlighted that AY couldn’t make a cameo appearance due to the scripted and precisely timed nature of the event. The concert, designed for TV recording, has a planned three-hour set, and every aspect of the show is meticulously organized.
