Spanish football champion, FC Barcelona, has reached a loan agreement with Chinese Dalian Quanjian for Nigeria’s Asisat Oshoala.
The loan deal will require 24-year old Oshoala to play with Barcelona’s female team for the rest of the 2018/19 season.
She in Barcelona on Thursday morning for the routine medical checks, before going into the President’s office to sign her contract.
Oshoala has been named African Footballer of the Year on three occasions (2017, 2016 & 2014). She also won the Golden Boot and Golden Ball at the U20 World Cup in 2014.

She netted the highest number of goals the Chinese Super League in 2017. She has had previous experience playing in European football at Arsenal (2016) and Liverpool (2015).
Commenting on her move, Oshoala said, “This is obviously one of the best clubs in the world. The team has a great history and a wonderful football mentality”.
“I am excited about playing with Vicky Losada again. She’s a great midfielder, with a lot of energy and skill. I also met Fabiana in China and she helped me to make this decision”.
“My goal is to strengthen the team and help them to win and make history. This is a fantastic opportunity because I’m sure something big will happen here,” she added.
