Barcelona Agree €25 Million For Lyon Winger Memphis Depay

2 Min Read

Barcelona have agreed to sign Dutch forward Memphis Depay for €25 million (£22m/$30m) from Lyon, La Vanguardia reports

Ronald Koeman is looking to add fresh faces to his ranks at Camp Nou and has turned to one he knows well from his time in charge of the Netherlands national side.

The Dutch coach, Ronald Koeman, looking to steer a new beginning at Camp Nou will have the club target a host of Dutch players and newspaper Algemeen Dagblad says they have agreed terms with the Lyon winger Memphis Depay.

Depay, 26, has one year left on his contract and told NOS earlier this week that “I never said I want to leave … I feel good about myself but also have my dreams. I have always expressed that too.”

Lyon reached the semifinals of the Champions League last season but missed out on Europe after only securing a seventh-place finish in Ligue 1, and talk of a move for Depay has increased.

Meanwhile, it was earlier reported that Koeman had insisted that Barcelona sign Georginio Wijnaldum, sources had told media reporters, and wanted the club to do whatever it takes to land the Liverpool midfielder.

Reports however have revealed that the Catalan Giants have agreed to terms for signing the Dutch midfielder and the paperwork is being finalised.
