The senator representing Kaduna Central senatorial district in the National Assembly, Sen. Shehu Sani has appealed to President Muhammadu Buhari to urgently equip the security agencies in the country.
Sani, an All Progressives Congress (APC) senator, made this appeal via his verified Twitter handle on Tuesday morning.
The senator was reacting to reports of killings in Birnin Gwari local government area of Kaduna.
He said funding and equipping the Nigerian Army, Nigerian Police Force, Department of State Services (DSS) and the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) would help the agencies combat the bandits.

According to reports, at least 162 persons have been shot or stabbed to death in the local government between January and May 2018, including 11 soldiers who were ambushed and killed.
The Nigerian Army has stationed a battalion in the area.
