A Kaduna-based don, Prof. Aliyu Muhammed, says the bandits that kidnapped him routinely fed the flesh of human corpses to their dogs.
The Herald reported the kidnap of the don and killing of his son by unknown gunmen on January 18.
Prof Muhammed ended up spending 25 days with his abductors before securing his freedom.
He reportedly secured his freedom after the payment of an undisclosed amount as ransom.
Senator for Kaduna Central in the Eight Senate, Shehu Sani, who first reported the don’s kidnap, narrated his ordeal in the kidnappers’ den.
He blasted those defending the activities of bandits, calling on them to spare a thought for the victims of banditry.
Taking to his verified Twitter handle on Thursday, Sani wrote, “Prof Aliyu Muhammed spent 25 days with bandits before ransom was paid in Zaria.
“He revealed how the bandits grisly fed human corpses to their dogs and other horrors.
“Those who want to defend this atrocities should please reserve a space in their hearts for the victims and their families.”
