Balotelli regrets playing for Italy over Ghana- Father

2 Min Read

Balotelli, popular enfant terrible seems to be regretting his decision to pick Italy over Ghana according to his father.

The superstar Ghanaian-born Italian international chose Italy over Ghana after breaking out with Inter Milan but has now fallen out of favour and hasn’t featured for them in a while.

With the likes of Pelle ahead of him he might even miss out of the European championships this summer

The 25-year-old despite several attempts by the Ghana Football Association decided to feature for the former World Champions.

Having made 33 caps for the Azzurri, Balotelli seems to have fallen out of favor by his adopted country due to his loss of form.

Thomas Bawuah, father of the former Manchester City striker has revealed his son’s regret for choosing Italy over the African giants (Ghana).

“Himself (Balotelli), has started realising he made a big mistake playing for the Italian National Team and he has told friends about it”, Barwuah told GazzettaGhana.com

“He is not being treated well, true they don’t show him the love he deserves for his great talent and skill. I think that all he gets is abuse, especially from the media here and that is because he is black”.

“They don’t like him and it started from the beginning, they didn’t want to see a black boy like himself taking glory of the Italian National Team”,

Balotelli, represented Italy at the 2012 goes down to become the first and only Black African who has featured for the European country.
