The 2015 FIFA Ballon D’Or has been won and lost. Lionel Messi, 28, won his fifth award after two consecutive wins by his arch rival, 30-year-old Cristiano Ronaldo, who has won the award three times.
But it was revealed that both players kept to their tradition of not voting for each other in as seen in the previous times.
Both players are entitled to vote in the award as the captains of their national teams.
While Ronaldo is the captain of the Portuguese national team, Lionel Messi leads the Argentine national team.
Lionel Messi voted for Barcelona teammates Luis Suarez, Neymar and Andres Iniesta in that order, and Cristiano Ronaldo voted for Real Madrid teammates Karim Benzema, James Rodriguez and Gareth Bale.
