As the details of the voting for the recently-held 2015 FIFA Ballon D’Or were released, information concerning who voted for whom have become to crystallize.
The top-two contenders, Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo, voted for their club mates at Barcelona and Real Madrid respectively.
While Messi voted in his capacity as Argentina’s national team captain, Ronaldo voted as the captain of the Portugal national team.
But perhaps the most revealing information is about the captain of the Guinean national team, Florentin Pogba, who did not vote for his high-flying younger brother, Paul Pogba.
Paul Pogba plays for France and Juventus, and contributed immensely to Juventus’ surprise UEFA Champions League final appearance in the year under review.
He also won the Serie A title as well as the Copa Italia with the club
As a result, he has been courted by many of the biggest clubs in the world including Barcelona and Manchester City.
Apparently, this did not impress Florentin, who voted for Messi, Ronaldo and Germany number one goalkeeper, Manuel Neuer, in that order.
However, this did not dim the chances of the 22-year-old, who alongside great names like Messi, Ronaldo, Neymar and Neuer, was named in the FifPro XI.
