Real Madrid have confirmed the signing of Gareth bale ending months of speculation that has dragged for most of the summer.
The Spanish side made the announcement on their website describing Bale as ‘the best footballer in the Premier League last season.’
The deal is understood to be worth a world record sum of 100 million euros (£85.3m) and Bale is expected to sign a six-year deal with the club.
Subject to the player completing a medical, the player is expected to be presented at the Santiago Bernabeu at 12pm Uk time.
The announcement was made shortly after Tottenham manager Andre Villas Boas had admitted in a post-match press conference that the Welsh man had joined the Spanish giants.
The former Chelsea manager said: “He is going to join Real Madrid so we wish him all the best.
“He is an absolutely wonderful player.
He has left us with some great memories from last season which every Tottenham fan cherishes, but he has moved on and we will move on as well.”
