Bale Happy At Madrid- Lopetegui Insists

2 Min Read

Real Madrid coach, Julen Lopetegui is happy with Gareth Bale, insisting that the Welsh star is happy with life at Madrid

The Wales international was instrumental in winning the Champions League for Real Madrid for a third successive time

But in all this, he’s struggled with injury and the immense shadow of Cristiano Ronaldo, but with the Portuguese superstar now at Juventus, many believe that the time may have finally come for Bale to truly shine at the Bernabeu.

Speaking after the 3-1 win against AC Milan, in which the Welshman scored, Lopetegui said of Bale; “I’m not going to talk about past seasons,”

“The Bale we have now is committed, content, wanting to have a great season. He is training very well, happy, and we are so happy with him. This has only just begun.”

The Spaniard also had some nice words for France’s Karim Benzema. The forward while instrumental for Real Madrid, scored only 5 goals in 32 games, but Lopetegui is confident that he can get the best out of the forward

“With Benzema we are happy,” he said.

“He trained very well, he is in great form, excited and enthusiastic. Surely he will help us in all facets, not only with his goals. He contributes a lot to the team and we are happy for what he does.”

The coach is also excited by the young talent he has at his disposal including the likes of Dani Ceballos, Vinicius Junior and Federico Valverde of which he said;

“We are delighted with all the young players we have here,

“They have played a very good preseason. The young players’ contribution gives energy and Real Madrid has needs youth and enthusiasm.

“There is still pre-season to finish off with the squad and we will make decisions.”

Real Madrid will kick off their La Liga campaign against Getafe next Sunday.
