Nigerian singer and songwriter, Bad Boy Timz, recently opened up about a traumatic incident from his childhood that almost resulted in the loss of his eyesight. In a candid conversation with Adesope Olajide, a UK-based Nigerian media personality, Bad Boy Timz shared the harrowing story of how he was shot in the eye by assassins who targeted his family in the Mushin area of Lagos when he was just nine years old.
Recalling the horrifying incident, Bad Boy Timz revealed that the assassins specifically targeted his family’s car and launched a sudden attack without any warning. Instead of attempting a robbery, they mercilessly fired shots at the car. Tragically, the bullet that was aimed at his father’s head ended up piercing Bad Boy Timz’s eye.

“They were assassins, they didn’t even stop the car, they just shot the bunnet and started spraying. It wasn’t a robbery and they were looking for an Igbo family. When they heard my mum say e je kin ko awon omo mi, they were surprised. It was me, my mum, my dad and my immediate older brother, it was just four of us in the car in Lagos, Mushin to be precise. They just overtook us and started shooting, they didn’t even tell us to stop and I got shot in the eye because they were targeting my dad’s head and it went straight into my eye” Bad Boy Timz shared.
Speaking about the present condition of his injured eye, Bad Boy Timz reassured his listeners that it is currently in stable condition. However, he revealed that he is preparing for another operation to address any underlying complications that may arise.
“The eye is alright for now, but I am scheduled for another operation soon,” Bad Boy Timz expressed.
