Babangida’s Statement: #BuhariOut Is The Real Message- Shehu Sani

2 Min Read

The Senator representing Kaduna Central Shehu Sani gave his opinion on a controversial statement given by the former military head of state Ibrahim Badamosi Babangida.

Ibrahim Babaginda had according to the Senator asked Nigerians to vote out the incumbent President Muhammadu Buhari in the 2019 forthcoming elections. Senator Sanni buttressed his comments on the issue by adding that Babangida’s statement also instructed Buhari not to seek reelection in 2019.

In a tweet posted on Senator Sanni’s timeline, he asserted that the first statement issued by Babangida telling Buhari not to consider reelection was indeed the real message to Buhari and Nigerians despite the former head of state’s denial.

“The first statement carried out the real message. The counter-statement was simply a phase in the drama. “The message was fully delivered while the recipient and the audience were left in suspense, It’s a bullet shot with flowers.” tweeted Sani who called Babangida’s counter-statement a fake.

In Babangida’s camp however, his spokesperson Kassim Afegbua has come out to state that Babangida never at any time denied the statement he made.

“The statement is in order. IBB did not hold any press conference in Minna. It was overzealous people that issued that statement of his denial.” said Afegbua.

Thisday had reported that the former of head of state in an exclusive interview said the earlier statement he made still holds.
