Some misguided and irate youth in Plateau state took to the streets to express their political views violently, burning down the campaign bus of the Peoples Democratic Party Presidential candidate at Zololo junction, Bauchi road in Jos, Jos North Local Government area of Plateau state.
The youth who used petrol to burn down the bus, continued shouting “Baba Buhari Oyoyo” as the bus was engulfed in flames.
The APC Presidential candidate, Pa Muhammadu Buhari took to his twitter account to condemn the violence, but many political analysts have said he would need to do more in order to forestall future acts of violence.
Violence has been the norm for Buhari supporters who killed over 800 people in post-election violence after their candidate lost the 2011 elections to the incumbent.
Many youth corpers and Christians living in the North were killed in several days of an orgy of violence.
Buhari has also been reported to have made more inciting remarks as recently as May 2012 when he addressed some members of his political party, CPC and said, “If what happened in 2011 (alleged rigging) should again happen in 2015, by the grace of God, the dog and the baboon would all be soaked in blood.’’ He did not elaborate further.
