Nigerian Afrobeats star Ayra Starr has shut down rumors of fueling a rivalry between fellow artists Asake and Seyi Vibez with her recent album choices.

In a recent interview with The Beat FM Lagos, Ayra Starr addressed the speculation surrounding her decision to collaborate with both Asake and Seyi Vibez on her sophomore album, “The Year I Turned 21.” While their fanbases have exhibited tension online, the singer insists her choices were purely based on artistic merit.

“The music, the sound – that’s what excites me the most,” Ayra Starr explained. “Sure, my team thinks about the business side, but for me, it’s all about who would create the best sound with me.”

She elaborated on her admiration for both artists, citing Seyi Vibez’s “Different Pattern” as a long-time favorite. “When I sent the track to him, he practically returned the verse right away,” she said, praising their efficiency. “Asake was just as quick, sending his part in three days.”
