Ayomide Adeleye, an OOU Undergraduate Confesses to Abducting and Killing Female Student

A 200-level undergraduate student at Olabisi Onabanjo University (OOU), Ayomide Adeleye, has been arrested and charged with the abduction and murder of Idowu Christianah. The young woman was declared missing on August 19,2024, after her abductors demanded a ransom of ₦1.5 million.

According to authorities, Adeleye, who was known to Christianah, was identified as the main suspect through a series of investigations. The investigation involved tracking bank transactions, analyzing digital evidence, and interviewing witnesses. On September 3, 2024, Adeleye was apprehended and confessed to the crime, revealing that he had lured Christianah to a secluded location, where he abducted and subsequently killed her.

The shocking revelation has sent shockwaves through the community, with many expressing outrage and demanding justice for the victim. Social media has been flooded with messages using the hashtag #JusticeForChristianah, calling for a thorough investigation and severe punishment for the perpetrator.

As investigations continue, authorities are also exploring the possibility that Adeleye may be linked to other similar cases,including the deaths of his ex-girlfriend and biological sister.
