Autopsy reveals cause of Davido’s friend Tagbo Umeike ‘s death

2 Min Read

The Autopsy report for Davido ‘s friend Tagbo has been revealed by the Medical Examiner’s office.

Tagbo, had reportedly died after ingesting lots of alcohol into his system while hanging out with his friends, Davido, Dammy Krane and others.

The result showed that a substantial amount of alcohol had been the major factor in the death of the 35 years old.

It also showed that he had alcohol and drugs in his system capable of easing a person into the early stages of hypothermia and eventual death.

The toxicology tests detected alcohol (Bacardi 151, 75.5% Alcohol) and topiramate, a medication for epilepsy and/or migraines in Tagbo Umeike’s system .

According to  reports from the coroner’s office, which states that the deceased’s blood-alcohol concentration (BAC) was at 0.112 , higher than the 0.08 legal limit for normal human being.

Recall that Nollywood actress, Caroline Danjuma, had called out Davido, accusing him of being involved in her friend’s death.

She also claimed that Davido and his crew had dumped Tagbo ‘s lifeless body at the General hospital and ran away.

In response to the accusation, the singer had denied being with the deceased as at the time of his death.

While his family claims that Tagbo “didn’t have a prescription for any type of topiramate medication”, the coroner’s office stated that the amount of drug in Tagbos’ system was in the “therapeutic range.”

A statement by the coroner’s office said,

“Alcohol and topiramate are synergistic. When combined, the effect of either or both drugs is enhanced.”
“Topiramate, like alcohol, can cause dizziness, impaired memory, impaired concentration, poor coordination, confusion and impaired judgment.
“Central nervous system depression, or impairment, combined with cold exposure can hasten the onset of hypothermia and death.”
