The governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress in Saturday’s election in Kogi State, Prince Abubakar Audu has been buried according to Islamic rights on Monday, a day after he died of what is suspected to be heart attack.
Controversies had surrounded the death of the APC candidate, with some claiming he died of heart attack and others alleging poison, after he died days after reportedly dining with an un-named APC chieftain from the South West geo-political zone.
What is however certain is that 68-year-old Audu complained of stomach ache on Saturday evening, before going to bed.
The controversy got to a head on Monday morning after rumours spread that Audu had resurrected after prayers from a prophet who had been brought into his house to pray for his corpse.
According to Premium Times, youths who were not allowed to see his remains continued to rejoice at the news of Audu’s resurrection, even when they did not have visual confirmation.
Audu was finally laid to rest dome minutes before 2.00pm on Monday.
