Arsenal will be without their captain and club’s leading goal scorer Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang after the English FA rejected Arsenal’s appeal to get his suspension reduced to few matches.
Aubameyang’s miss-timed challenge against Crystal Palace’s Meyer was deemed red card by worthy VAR even though the Referee initially adjudged the situation as a yellow card.
“It’s been confirmed that he is going to be suspended for three games,” manager Mikel Arteta told reporters in a press conference on Wednesday.
“It’s a big shame and a big loss for us because as well we know Auba’s intention when he plays.
“But unfortunately he mistimed the tackle, he made a decision and we have to accept it.”
Aubameyang will miss Premier League games against Sheffield United and Chelsea, and the FA Cup match against Bournemouth.
