Unknown attackers suspected to be Mambilla militia have burnt down 15 Fulani communities, killing at least 14 persons.
According to Daily Trust, the incident occurred in Sardauna LGA of Taraba State.
The attack reportedly started on Thursday afternoon and lasted till the morning of Friday.
At least 12 persons injured in the attacks are said to be receiving treatment at a hospital in Gembu.
Quoting a survivor, Mallam Abubakar Ardo, who was able to escape with his family, the paper reported that the intervention of soldiers and police prevented further damage.
He said that despite calm returning to the area, Fulani people living in the area had fled.
Ardo added that five of those killed in the attack were buried after Friday’s Jum’ at prayers.

The Taraba State Police Command PRO, ASP David Misal confirmed the attack to the paper but said only four persons were killed from both sides.
He added that security had been beefed up in the area to prevent further breakdown of law and order.
A similar incident occurred where more than 130 people were killed in an attack on a village in central Mali on Saturday by armed men wearing traditional Dogon hunters’ clothing.
Gunmen surrounded the village at dawn before attacking people in their homes in Ogossagou in the Mopti region.
