Atletico Madrid are still searching for their first Liga win of the season after being held to a goalless draw by newcomers Leganes in what was a rather forgettable game.
Diego Simeone’s side did have the ball in the back of the net just after the hour mark when Diego Godin slotted home only to see the goal disallowed for a clear offside.
The other Madrid team huffed and puffed but were unable to break down Leganes.
Not even the presence of Antoine Griezmann was able to inspire Atletico to victory.
This follows last week’s dramatic 1-1 draw with Deportivo Alaves in which Atletico scored in injury time through new signing Kevin Gameiro and they thought they had won only to be sucker punched when Manu Garcia equalized in that same injury time to bring the game to a dramatic end.
Atletico will now have to endure an international break before trying to get their first win when they face Celta Vigo away from home.
