Rich Homie Quan, born Dequantes Lamar, was found deceased in his Atlanta home on Thursday. His family expressed their devastation and heartbreak over his sudden passing, stating that no cause of death has been reported yet, and they are seeking answers.
Rich Homie Quan first gained widespread recognition in 2013 with his hit single “Type of Way,” followed by popular tracks like “Flex (Ooh, Ooh, Ooh)” and “Ride Out.” He was also known for his collaborations with Young Thug on the Cash Money Records project “Rich Gang,” and frequently worked with fellow Atlanta artists 2 Chainz and Jacquees.
In his last interview with TMZ, Rich Homie Quan criticized the current state of hip hop, particularly its violent lyrics and repetitive song structures.
