2 Min Read

As Chief of Staff to the President, Abba Kyari allegedly tested positive for coronavirus, former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has offered a short word of prayer for him.

Atiku took to social media to share the prayer on Tuesday morning.

He wrote, “My thoughts and prayers are with Chief of Staff, Abba Kyari. Allah ya kare mu gabaki daya, kuma ya bashi lafiya. -AA.”

Abba Kyari reportedly visited Germany, one of the hotbeds of coronavirus, on official assignment recently.

However, the presidency has yet to confirm reports of Kyari’s diagnosis.

Recall that Atiku had taken to the same channel on Sunday night to announce that his son, Mohammed, tested positive for the virus.

Meanwhile, President Muhammadu Buhari has reportedly directed all government officials that recently returned from foreign trips to self-isolate.

The move was said to be aimed at halting the spread of coronavirus government circles.

“The President has ordered all FG officials who have returned from high burden COVID-19 countries to self-isolate after some of them returned from Germany last week, refusing to embark on self-isolation.

“He has ordered that all FG officials who may have recently returned from a trip to any of the high burden countries ‘must be made’ to isolate even where they refused to do so voluntarily,” Vanguard quoted an unnamed source in the Presidential Villa as saying.

While Abba Kyari has allegedly tested positive, Buhari has tested negative, sources said.
