“Atiku discovered Peter Obi before keyboard warriors” – Dino Melaye

Senator Dino Melaye has mocked supporters of 2023 presidential candidate of Labour Party (LP), Peter Obi, describing them as “keyboard warriors”.

Melaye, who represented Kogi West in the 8th Senate, spoke on Sunday during an event in Abuja.

He said that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar was a better fit for president in 2023 than his LP and All Progressives Congress (APC) opponents.

According to him, the PDP candidate is a “talent hunter” who “discovered” Obi as well as other reformers in Nigeria from 1999 to date.

Recall that Obi, who was Governor of Anambra state from 2006 to 2014, was running mate to Atiku on the 2019 PDP presidential ticket.

“Atiku discovered Obi before keyboard warriors discovered Obi. Unfortunately, elections are not going to take place on social media. It is going to take place at the polling units. And those that would vote are the people here. So it is now operation votes must count.

“Out of all the presidential candidates, he is the only one with Presidential campaign experience. All of them are running for the office of the president for the first time. From Kwankwaso, to Obi to Tinubu and others. Atiku has led this route before. He understands it and he will emerge victorious by the grace of God,” Melaye said.
