Former Vice President of the federation and current Presidential aspirant, Atiku Abubakar has stated that he is ready to battle for the soul of Nigeria.
The politician made this known in a statement ahead of his birthday which is on the 25th of November
Atiku pleaded with friends, family and well-wishers not to place adverts in the newspapers congratulating him and that this is a period of sober reflection as to how to make the country better.
He advised those who would want to spend on sending him congratulatory messages to instead put their money in orphanages and other charitable organisations

The statement read in part: “These times call for sober reflection and prayer, rather than merriment and jollification. These times require a laser-sharp focus on rescuing Nigeria from the economic crisis and global ignominy.
“These times must be dedicated solely to the task of getting Nigeria working again, on JOBS (Jobs, Opportunities, Being United and Security). The time for celebration will definitely come. But, first of all, the battle for the soul of our nation must be won.”
Atiku also thanked all those who are in support of him to win the Presidency and said that the battle truly belonged to God
