The leadership of the Academic Staff Union of Universities has yet again turned down a meeting with the federal government.
The recent development further dampens the hope of University students who hope to resume from the indefinite strike which was announced some weeks ago.
The leadership of the union failed to show up at the meeting which was scheduled to hold today in Abuja.
Channels TV reported that ASUU President, Biodun Ogunyemi, confirmed that the union will not attend the meeting.
Biodun Ogunyemi added that ASUU has met and has discussed the new offer from the FG and submitted a proposal to the government.
He noted that with the latest development in view, they will not honour any other meeting until the leadership of ASUU receives a reply from the federal government as regards the submitted proposal.
