A Georgia mother has been left with plenty of unanswered questions after discovering her son had been murdered in California. 2,000 miles away, Iris Flowers says her son was found in Death Valley, California with all of his internal organs missing.
Ryan Singleton, a 24-year-old aspiring model, left Atlanta in early July and headed off to follow his dreams of becoming an actor in Hollywood. While on his way to California, Singleton made stops in New Mexico, Arizona and Las Vegas before going missing in Baker, California.
“He went to Las Vegas during a weekend visit and got missing in Baker, California on the way back,” said Flowers to George Franco, reporter for Fox 5.
Singleton’s body was discovered on September 21 by a couple of joggers running in the desert near Baker, the city right in between Los Angeles and Vegas.
Police immediately contacted Flowers and explained to her that not only was her son deαd, but his organs were missing.
“There were no organs. He said ‘Ma’am, there were no eyes, there was no heart, there was no lungs, there was no liver, there were no kidneys’”, said Flowers.
A spokesman for the San Bernardino County Coroner’s Office told Fox 5 that there is no word on a cause of deαth for Singleton, however the body was badly decomposed and investigators believe animals might have gotten a hold of Singleton’s organs.
The spokesman also exclaimed that the case has been sent to the specialized case division because it needs more attention.
Despite the work on her sons case, Flowers doesn’t believe that her sons organs were tampered with by animals.
“I don’t know of any animal that comes to a body and just picks out certain parts of the body. I don’t think it was animal activity at all,” said Flowers.
Flowers told Fox that Singleton left metro Atlanta early July and traveled to Los Angeles in a rented car. He drove pass New Mexico, Arizona and lastly, Las Vegas.
His car was found a few miles from Baker in Death Valley, California.
Singleton was last seen in a gas station in July near Baker, and his body was found a month later.
The San Bernardino County Coroner’s Office has not disclosed when their investigation will be closed.
