Barely 48hours since its release, Asake’s newest single, 2:30 has charted number 1 on Apple Music.
The track has surpassed Davido’s album which for over a week since its release has dominated from number 1-17.
This will be his second number 1 track following his earlier released song, Yoga, which topped the charts at its release.
Asake has been the trending artist since last month, following how first he was featured on Davido’s album in No Competition, performed at the Jimmy Fallon show and how has released a new single.
The artist who was the king of Nigerian music scene as at last year and is still making news with his artistry at the second quarter of this year has as his new single, a track which he uses to send a clear message of being ahead of his peers.
Joey Akan has described the track as “Asake dropped 2 verses of a blatant long sub, punctuated by two abstract hooks. But the message to his peer is so direct and so clear.”
