Music critic and journalist, Joey Akan, has taken the liberty to explain to Nigerians, the hidden message in Asake’s newest single, 2:30.
The music journalist explained that the Asake’s single was a combination of two verses with a long sub issued at his colleagues in the music game and two abstract hooks.
He said “Asake dropped 2 verses of a blatant long sub, punctuated by two abstract hooks.
But the message to his peer is so direct and so clear”

Two days earlier, Joey Akan disclosed his feelings on the single, stating how he loved the record and regarded it a song good to play around with.
“I love ‘2.30,’ and I believe it’s a sweet record to play with.
But all around social media, you can’t help but notice the controlled sighs and complaints of listeners seeking a new artistic expression.
Those calls will only get louder, unless he responds with another sound.”, Joey said.
And via experience, it doesn’t even have to be wholesale changes.
People generally don’t want to extract the essence of the artist. They just want their marginal utility to be supercharged again by a new vibe.
That same feeling of novelty we all enjoyed and supported last year.
