Arsenal have confirmed the signing of Ivorien international, Nicolas Pepe in a £72 million deal from French side, LOSC Lille.
The club announced the signing in a statement on its official website.
The 24-year-old is the Gunners fourth summer signing, as Gabriel Martinelli, Dani Ceballos and William Saliba have already joined the London club.
He scored 22 goals and provided 11 assists for Lille in the 2018/2019 season.
Pepe is now Arsenal’s record signing, surpassing the £56 million spent to land Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang from Borussia Dortmund in 2018.
Club manager, Unai Emery said, “Nicolas is a highly-rated and talented winger who was wanted by many of the top teams in Europe,” said Arsenal boss Unai Emery.
“Signing a top-class winger has been one of our key objectives in this transfer window and I’m delighted he’s joining.
“He will add pace, power and creativity, with the aim of bringing more goals to our team.”
