Arsenal have made their second signing of the summer in 17-year-old midfielder Yacine Adli
The Gunners will pay PSG a compensation fee of £223,000 for the young French starlet.
PSG tried to retain the star, but he rejected the offer, instead preferring to follow his former coach Unai Emery to the Emirates
Adli, as first reported in France, has signed a three-year contract with Arsenal, with the option to sign for two more.
This continues a busy summer for the Gunners who yesterday confirmed the signing of Stephan Lichtsteiner from Juventus on a free transfer and it is widely expected that the London club will add Greek defender Sokratis Papastathopoulos from Borussia Dortmund in the coming days.
According to Goal.com, Adli claimed that Emery and his coaches really helped him step up his game to another level.
He said “I think I’ve become more mature, largely thanks to my integration into the adult game with the reserves, certain training sessions with the professionals. I’ve also improved technically and tactically thanks to David Hernandez, who I’ve watched a lot of videos with, which has really helped me,”
“But I think there are still some aspects I can improve. I’m aiming higher, so I’m full of things that can make me better.”
