The Director of Public relations Information for the NAF, Air Commodore Ibikunle Daramola stated that at the end of the investigation the necessary findings will be revealed to the press.

In a press release on Friday, the NAF reiterated it’s support for female pilots stating that 11 were currently undergoing training within and outside the country.

The statement also said Ms. Arotile died from head injuries sustained from an accident when she was,

“inadvertently hit by the reversing vehicle of an excited former Air Force secondary school classmate while trying to greet her.”

Several family members as well as the Yoruba pan cultural organisation, Afenifere rejected the official report on cause of death and demanded for a coroner’s inquest into the death of Nigeria’s youngest ever pilot.
