By all indications the Nigerian Army is beginning Exercises in Ayem Akpatuma covering Benue, Taraba, Kogi, Nasarawa, Kaduna and Niger states in order to curb the growth in the cases of kidnappings and herdsmen killings among other things.
The announcement was made by the Nigerian Army on Wednesday.
Maj Gen David Ahmadu, The Chief of Training and Operations, announced this in Abuja on behalf of Lt Gen Tukur Buratai the Chief of Army Staff.
He stated that the exercise would run from February 15 to March 31, 2018.
The exercises, will involve roadblocks, raids, cordon and search operations and checkpoints.
