The Army Headquarters Garrison will on Friday hold its Route March for officers and soldiers serving in the FCT, for May.
This is contained in a statement issued by the Deputy Director, Army Public Relations, Col. Aliyu Yusuf in Abuja on Wednesday.
The statement said the exercise would hold between 6:00 a.m. and 8:00 a.m., and that it would progress from the Guards Brigade Sports Complex to Niger Barracks to Mambilla Barracks and back to the Guards Brigade Sports Complex.
It said the exercise was mandatory for all personnel of the Nigerian Army serving in the FCT, and was aimed at testing the physical fitness of the troops and determining their endurance capabilities.
The statement advised the general public, especially FCT residents, not to panic at the troops’ movement and urged them to go about their normal activities.
