Apple yesterday announced its newest top-tier smartphone, the iphone 5S
The new phone has a similar look to that of the current iPhone 5 but it has several internal hardware improvements. The device will have three colour schemes: black with gray, white with gold and white with gray.
The iphone 5 S is expected to hit the market on September 20 for $199, $299 or $399 for the 16GB, 32GB and 64 GB models respectively.
The major feature on the new phone is its home button which has been redeveloped and includes a fingerprint scanner.
The scanner will enable users unlock their phone by placing their finger on the home button. The scanner will also serve as a convenient way to sign into apps and the iTunes store without making use of a password every time you want to download a new app, song or video from apple.
The home button no longer has a circle-in-square design. It is now completely smooth and has a stainless steel ring around it.
Apple has also improved the phone’s camera sensor to bring more light and display bigger pixels for better overall photo quality. The camera flash now has two LED lights, which help colors and skin tones appear better in low-light environments.
The iphone 5S has a new processor called the A7. The processor has a speed that is twice as fast as the iphone5. There’s a new chip called the M7 that controls sensors such as the compass, gyroscope and accelerometer. Health and fitness apps will be able to use this processor to track your movements.
The company also announced the development of the iPhone 5C, which has nearly identical features as the iphone 5S, but it is wrapped in a plastic casing that comes in a variety of colors.
