When opening a company in Nigeria, having a board of directors is required by law.
These board members are mostly those the company’s owner(s) can trust or financial backers.
However, the General Overseer of Omega Fire Ministries, Apostle Johnson Suleman, has advised potential company owners against putting family members on their boards.
He stated this in a post on his verified Twitter handle.
According to him, it is very risky to employ someone that cannot be fired into sensitive positions or as company directors.
“In business, putting family members as board directors or sensitive positions is very risky..don’t hire who you can’t fire,” Suleman said.
