The All Progressives Congress has secured a court order granting them leave to inspect the materials used by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to conduct the gubernatorial elections in Anambra state.
The APC and its candidate, Senator Chris Ngige had alleged widespread abuse of processes and gross rigging. INEC, itself, even submitted the fact that one of its senior officials was compromised by another party’s politicians to rig the election and subvert the will of the people of Anambra State.
Justice J.K. Kaigama, who presides over the Anambra State Governorship Election Tribunal has granted the APC to inspect and copy documents including the elections result sheet, voters register, Form EC-17 oath of neutrality, used and unused ballot papers, ad-hoc and permanent staff used during elections, and staff payment vouchers.
Kaigama ordered INEC to do the needful speedily in order to enable the petitioner expedite its action.
