APC UK congratulates Osun Governor-elect, urges him to be magnanimous

2 Min Read

Mr Ade Omole, leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) United Kingdom chapter has advised the Osun Governor-elect, Adegboyega Oyetola to be magnanimous in victory by carrying along other contestants in governing the state.

He gave the advice in a statement made available to News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Friday in Abuja, while congratulating the governor-elect.

Omole stated that Adegboyega’s victory at the keenly contested election was well deserved.

He advised the governor-elect to operate an all inclusive government and to hit the ground running as soon as he was sworn in, adding that there was a lot to be done in the state to consolidate on the achievements of the outgoing Governor, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola.

The UK leader of the APC chapter thanked Osun electorate for their patience and orderliness during the election and for voting their choice candidate, saying that they were the heroes of the moment.

He further thanked the electorate for their vote and urged them to continue to support the APC-led government at all levels and to vote President Muhammadu Buhari in 2019.

He maintained that the APC remained the best party for Nigerians.

Oyetola scored a total of 255,505 to defeat Ademola Adeleke of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) who scored 255,023 in a re-run on Thursday, after the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) declared the Sept. 22 Osun guber poll inconclusive. (NAN)
