The senator representing Kogi West senatorial district in the National Assembly, Sen. Dino Melaye has decamped to the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) from the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
Melaye, who resumed plenary after a long absence, caused commotion within the Senate chamber by sitting with PDP members.
The Herald Nigeria on Monday reported how Sen. Ben Murray-Bruce begged Melaye to resume plenary, even if on crutches, saying the chamber had not been the same without him.
Melaye has been battling the Nigerian Police Force, who are prosecuting him over allegations of gun-running levelled against him by some thugs.
