Ahead of the Wednesday Edo state governorship election, the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA), has accused All Progressive Congress (APC) and People’s Democratic Party (PDP) of scheming to rig the election.
The governorship candidate of APGA, Osaro Onaiwu said on Sunday in a statement that as the election remains few days, information reaching him has shown that the two parties are striving hard to unlawfully influence the outcome of the election.
Onaiwu accused the ruling APC and PDP of trying to shortchanged APGA after realizing the acceptability of the party among Edo people.
“We just want to alert the public and the security agents that the will of the people should not be allowed to be tempered with, we are law-abiding people, and we want our votes to count.
“APC and PDP have been accusing each other of plans to rig, while the true position is that they have both perfected plans to rig the people’s party, APGA, out.”
He therefore called on security operatives to beef up their intelligence gathering in order to ensure that the election is free and fair.
