The screening committee for the Governorship Primaries of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Edo State has disqualified Governor Godwin Obaseki from participating in the exercise.
This was revealed by the chairman of the committee, Jonathan Ayuba while presenting a report to national party chairman, Adams Oshiomhole on Friday.

Ayuba said Obaseki was disqualified alongside two other aspirants while three people were selected to participate in the party Primaries.
Obaseki had alleged on Wednesday that he was not sure of getting justice shortly after his screening because the party chairman, Adams Oshiomhole did not recluse himself from the primaries.
“Like I said, as a party man I had to go through the screening process but I do not believe that I will get justice because Comrade Adams Oshiomhole is an interested party in the Edo process,” the governor had said.
“One of the questions asked was why did I issue a gazette that will prevent the party from performing direct elections in Edo. That did I not see it as an anti-party activity?”
The APC Governorship Primaries is expected to hold on June 22.
