All Progressives Party, Oyo State will elect its Gubernatorial Candidate for the 2015 Governorship Elections today at the mainbowl of the Lekan Salami Stadium, Adamasingba, Ibadan.
Delegates from the 33 Local Government Areas in the State will be participating. The aspirants contesting for the Governorship ticket are Dr Ayobami Adesina, son of a late former governor of the state, Alhaji Lam Adesina, Senator Abiola Ajimobi and Mr Bayo Shittu.
The Party has asked members of the public to ignore any rumour concerning the suspension or cancellation of the exercise.
The Party’s Director of Publicity and Strategy, Olawale Sadare in a statement said “the process of nominating a candidate among the trio of Senator Ajimobi, Mr Shittu and Dr Adesina through an indirect primaries to be determined by only eligible delegates will be concluded today.
“To this end, we urge the general public to disregard any contrary information emanating from certain quarters, bearing in mind that the exercise is in compliance with the directive of the national headquarters of our great party.
“As a matter of fact, the six-man committee, led by Honourable Lumumba Adeh, has been around since last weekend and we are calling on all stakeholders from within and outside the APC to ensure the success of the exercise.”
