The National Working Committee (NWC) of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has denied knowledge of the ongoing gubernatorial primaries of the party in Lagos.
A political activist and convener of pro-democracy group Concerned Nigerians, Deji Adeyanju, made the claim in a Facebook post on Tuesday afternoon.
He said that the panel set up by the NWC of the party to organise the Lagos gubernatorial polls dissociated itself from the ongoing polls.
Recall that The Herald had reported that the panel made up of former Cross River governor, Mr. Clement Ebri (chairman), Alhaji Ahmed Mahmud Gumel (Secretary); Hon. Chidi Duru; Chief Clever Egbeji; Senator Clever Ikisikpo and Ambassador Jerry Ugokwe arrived in Lagos on Monday.
Adeyanju said, “The NWC panel in charge of the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship primary election in Lagos state has dissociated itself from the ongoing exercise, saying it didn’t sanction it.”
However, this newspaper could not independently confirm the information.
