APC Moves To Resolve Internal Wrangling Within Its Fold

The internal wrangling within the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) may soon become a thing of the past going by the assurances offered by the National Chairman, Chief John Odigie-Oyegun.

According to Odigie-Oyegun, who spoke to State House correspondents after a party caucus meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari on Tuesday evening, the party has set up a dispute resolution mechanism within its fold to tackle the dissensions and skirmishes.

He added that such skirmishes were normal within a party of APC’s size and should not be blow out of proportion, adding that the meeting with the president dwelt on some of the challenges confronting the party and how to resolve them.

Also, the party chairman said the issues bedevilling the party since it came to power in May 2015 will soon be bygones.

Odigie-Oyegun stated: “Skirmishes among party members are normal. We have set up a committee that is looking into all those issues and will resolve those issues.

“We discussed all the challenges that have occurred since the elections. And we decided on the way forward.

“It was a very serious meeting that discussed serious issues that have to do with the progress of the party.”

He added: “Basically, we are expecting the budget to be out, and once that is done, implementation of our policies will start.

“That is what we will use to deliver on our promises to the people. So we are waiting.

“We don’t just recover money and spend it. We recover money and it will go into revenue, it will be deployed appropriately with the normal legislative approach.

However, the party chairman said Nigerians should exercise patience with the present administration, as many of the challenges facing the nation will be resolved once this year’s budget is passed by the National Assembly.
