The splinter political group the Reformed- All Progressives Congress (R –APC) has accused the APC led government of failing Nigerians, adding that that its members had hoped to build an egalitarian society under the All Progressives Congress.
This was revealed by the Chairman of the reformed All Progressive Congress (R-APC), Buba Galadima, who gave more insight into his break away from the All Progressives Congress (APC) while speaking on Channels Television’s special political programme, Roadmap 2019.
Speaking on the programme, he accused the Muhammadu Buhari led APC government of performing as badly as the party it was voted in to replace, adding that the government has failed Nigerians especially in the areas of security, the economy and the rule of law.
He asserted that when the APC came into power in 2015, it made several promises to Nigerians, many of which it has failed to fulfill as at today. According to Galadima,
“It was our conviction that we will build an egalitarian society, an inclusive society, where the common man will be the bedrock of our policy and that the son of ‘Mr nobody’ can be ‘Mr somebody. Today, this is not what is obtained in the country and our party which we had laboured and sacrificed to form”
“We were accusing the PDP of constitutional infractions, dictatorial tendencies and high handedness and we told the Nigerian people and they accepted and voted for us that we could do better than them, that when we come, we will provide leadership, we will do constitutional democracy where everybody can have the right and the opportunity to aspire to any position if the people give him the mandate. He continued.

Mr Galadima also stated that the APC led government had promised to secure the lives and property of every Nigerian but the opposite is the case as people are being murdered in their hundreds on a daily basis. He further lamented that citizens live in fear because of the increasing rate of crime and criminality in the country.
“You can be shot at any time. For those of us who are Muslims, if we want to go to Kano from Abuja, it is not the length of time that is the matter we have to sleep throughout the night, praying God that we should be taken to our destination safely. That is not the kind of society we intended to build” he stated.
Galadima’s comments is coming several weeks after the formation of the Reformed APC which is composed of aggrieved members of the APC who accuse the party of going against the principles on which it was founded.
The aggrieved former APC members who are mostly members of the National Assembly accused the ruling party of severe under-performance and its inability to provide good governance for the country.
Galadima, who has become very critical of the Buhari government, was once the secretary of the Congress for Progressive Change (CPC), the President’s former party.
