APC defies Shuaibu’s outbursts. passes vote of confidence on Oshiomhole

The National Working Committee (NWC) of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has on Thursday passed a vote of confidence on the party’s National Chairman, Adams Oshiomhole.

The party also set up a five-man disciplinary committee to investigate the party’s Deputy National Chairman, North, Lawal Shuaibu for making calls for Oshiomhole’s resignation.

The party’s National Publicity, Lanre Issa-Onilu, said the decisions were taken at the 38th regular meeting of the NWC held in Abuja.

Issa-Onilu said the probe panel headed by a former Ekiti State Governor, Niyi Adebayo, would investigate Shuaibu for allegedly instigating some unnamed members of the party in the National Assembly against the party’s decision on the choice of next leaders of the federal parliament.

The statement, “The meeting of the National Working Committee at its 38th regular meeting held on 27th May, 28th May 2019 and 6th June, 2019, considered several issues, among which was the state of the party.

“After extensive deliberation, the NWC resolved as follows: to pass a vote of confidence on the National Chairman,  Adams Aliyu Oshiomhole “To set up a five-man disciplinary committee headed by Otunba Niyi Adebayo to investigate the following: the allegation levelled by Senator Lawal Shuaibu against the National Chairman on issues involving the collective decisions of the National Working Committee.”

The committee is expected to submit its report within seven days.
