APC crisis: Tinubu has jumped off the fence – Shehu Sani

Shehu Sani, former Kaduna Central Senator, has reacted to comments made by Bola Tinubu, national chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) on the crisis rocking the ruling party.

Recall that Tinubu said those plotting to remove Adams Oshiomhole, as national chairman of the ruling party, are distracting President Muhammadu Buhari.

Speaking on the APC national leader’s comments, the senator said: “ASIWAJU has jumped off the fence, ended his silence and neutrality and fired a barrage of cruise missiles from the Atlantic into Berlin.”

Earlier, The Herald reported that Justice Senchi Z. Danlami of an FCT High Court ordered the suspension of Comrade Adams Oshiomhole as National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The judge gave the order on Wednesday in Jabi following an application by one Oluwale Afolabi seeking an interlocutory injunction asking the court to suspend Oshiomhole, having been suspended as a member of the APC by the party in Edo State.

Joining the National Chairman and APC as first and second respondents, the appellant contended that since his suspension by the party, the party boss has not challenged it in court.

The appellant further argued that since the suspension temporarily deprived him of the privileges of being an APC member, Oshiomhole could not continue to act as national chairman of the party.

In his ruling, Justice Danlami held that the APC wrongfully kept Oshiomhole as National Chairman.

He ordered that the first respondent stopped parading himself as National Chairman pending the determination of a substantive suit filed before the court.

The judge further directed the party to stop recognising the first respondent as its National Chairman.

Oshiomhole has been at loggerheads with the Governor of Edo State, Godwin Obaseki, over the control of the party machinery in the state.
