The Senior Special Assistant to the President on Public Affairs, Doyin Okupe has gone to town of leading opposition party, All Progressive Congress describing the party as “totally spineless”, and “a boat doomed and destine to sink”.
Okupe speaking in an interactive session with journalists in Lagos, Saturday said the APC was a collection of Nigeria’s enemies.
He said, “We are unperturbed by the seeming parade of the APC going about collecting people. When (Rabiu) Kwankawaso is in PDP, he is corrupt. The moment he joined APC, he is a saint. That is not the kind of politics we are looking at.
“The APC is not interested in performance and accountability. They are interested in aggregating all sorts of characters, bring them together, and they think they are growing.
“I want to assure you, we are totally unperturbed by the seeming parade of the political giants that the APC is courting all over the country.
“When I came here last time, I told you that the ACN is totally spineless, they have no leaders of their own. If they do not go out and fish in PDP water for leadership, they cannot stand. They do not have it among themselves,” Okupe said.
He added: “Something great and wonderful is happening in Nigeria. If you look at Nigeria since the time of Abiola, Abacha, Obasanjo, you will see definitely that God has a hand in what is happening in Nigeria.
“This parade that you see, this boat that is flying, is doomed and is bound to sink. The APC boat is going to sink. It is destined to wreck.
“What you are seeing is a collection of the enemies of Nigeria. When we went to Israel on pilgrimage, we prayed that all the enemies of Nigeria, that God should remove them from politics.
“How can God free Nigeria from the shackles of oppression if not first of all collect them in a boat and sink it? This is what is going to happen.
“People who sit quietly in their houses, they are going to collect them and bring them out. If this collection wins election, it is not going to be historical. But if a Jonathan defeats these giants, then all the glory will go to God.”
