The visit of the APC leaders to Jonathan comes amid speculation that the former president worked to support the governorship bid of the APC candidate, David Lyon, following a disagreement with the outgoing Bayelsa state governor, Seriake Dickson.

Meanwhile, The Herald reported that Jonathan expressed disappointment over the late arrival of election materials to his Polling Unit 39, Ward 13, in Otuoke, Ogbia Local Government Area (LGA) of Bayelsa.

Jonathan, who was expected to cast his vote, stepped out of his house at 8:30 a.m. but met only journalists as the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) officials were yet to arrive at the venue.

“Are you an electoral officer, where are they?” The former president asked a journalist at the venue. Well this is where I will vote, but since they are not here yet, let me go back inside. You see now, youths of nowadays, you need to do more,” he stated.

Earlier, The Herald reported that former president reiterated the call for the adoption of the electronic system of voting to end electoral malpractices and their ills in governance.

Jonathan who made this known  on Thursday, November 14, said the country can  develop as a nation to a point where  votes count. Jonathan warned that until votes begin to count, the wrong people will continue to occupy leadership offices.

He said: “Politicians will hire a group of boys and begin to feed them like dogs…. for elections, meanwhile they send their children abroad schooling in the best universities in the world, but the children of others will be their thugs. They can die; it does not matter to them.
