The Russian law enforcement have discovered the sum of $122 million in cash at the home of the acting head of Russia’s anti-corruption agency.
According to Russian media reports, the Russian police raided the home of Dmitry Zakharchenko who operates as the deputy head of the Energy Industry Department of the General Administration of Economic Security and Combating the Corruption (GAESCC).
Following the discovery of the huge sum, Dmitry Zakharchenko was arrested by the law enforcement agency on grounds of suspicion of abuse of power, obstruction of justice, and accepting bribes.
Dmitry Zakharchenko was also reported to have denied comments on the source of the money found in his home.
He has subsequently been charged with abuse of power, obstruction of justice and accepting bribes and has plead not guilty.
