Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury are arguably two of the best British heavyweight boxers of all time, the prospect of the pair going toe-toe in the ring has been lusted for since they both broke into the elite levels of the game.
Now, boxing super-promoter Eddie Hearn has confirmed that a 2-fight deal has been agreed for next year, with the bout being tipped as the biggest fight in British heavyweight boxing history. Although we wish we could see the pair jump straight into the ring, both Fury and Joshua have their own hurdles in the way before they can go to war. Fury has a rematch clause with Deontay Wilder for their final trilogy fight, and Joshua has a tricky mandatory fight with Kubrat Pulev.

Speaking to Sky Sports, who have broadcasting rights to the fight, Eddie Hearn said: “We’ve been talking to MTK (Fury’s management team), giving them the assurances from Joshua’s side that all the details on the structure of the deal is approved from our side. And it is from Fury’s side, as well. “We’re in a good place. It’s fair to say that, in principle, both guys have agreed to that fight. Two fights. There’s a lot to overcome in the meantime; we’re moving in the right direction. I’m confident that both guys have given their blessing for the fight to go ahead.”
Hearn concluded by saying that the match-up is the “biggest ever fight in British boxing.”
Known for his boyish charm on the socials, Tyson Fury said: “I’ve just gotta smash Deontay Wilder’s face right in, in the next fight, and then we go into the Joshua fight next year.”
